Wanderer Midst Trees

Lost,
The phosphorescent dark
Moonlit birch illumines, pale
Shadows twixt bars of branch
And bark, a dun umbra in
Which to swoon and cry:
Will ever yet that golden globe
Appear, verity to bring and
Place these poor shoes 'pon
Any brazen path
To love?
