And Comes the Night

And comes the night...

To end another day, as days become weeks become months, seasons, decades. And love, love a toffee that stretches, taut and aching, but never breaks. So easy, I simply close my eyes and your scent carries me away, the wholesome musk of your sex, that warm pressure as you sleep head 'gainst my shoulder. My strange, exotic daily comfort, where are you now? How is it that I lie alone and yet can breathe? To love you 'till I die; absence doesn't change the charge. Should I not make it home I ask only that you seek me out, with wetted finger trace out the carven letters of my name. Your gentle pressure on my headstone will vibrate 'cross the divide and I shall know you still. Still and always.

Always my love you be and were and shall so remain,
My love and only lover...
