In My Mirror

Having seen tricks
Of thought mine mind has
Played, plaguing me with
Lurid hopes
Liquid deceits of light
It takes the loved, it
Takes the lost
Weaves of them a flag
Of red
Rearing, I rant and blast
Impotent arms through
Hoops of stupid wants
Seizing nothing

Dearest friend, when
Death came for you, did
You recognise it's face?
A skull phantastic?
Mask of monk or
Sultry starlet?
Or did it steal these
Eyes of mine, and having
Dried them, stare you down
As your life it took,
From me

I can cry no more, I
Cringe from remembrance
That I lost you once, then
Twice, thrice and every time
Mine mind does catch me
Off my guard.
In brightest sunshine
Light's no armour
As from my left you
Come again and I,
Eternal mark,
For brief sweet fragment
Of my sentence I
Feel paroled~
Light in my soul~
It only magnifies
The level of the loss an
Instant after and I can't
Stop the process, again
I cry; again you die and
Never do you take
Me with you
