On Love and Time

Time is time which
The clapper swings and
Strikes the bell that
Moves the heart.
Soul the soul that
Ever rings, hammering
Two spirits into one.
Nothing that on Earth
Could e’er be done,
But in the Dreamtime
That bell will peal
As the worthy down do kneel.
As lovely light does
Shadows cast,
The light of love that
Ever lasts, though time
Will ever try to fool the
Eyes of those immune to jewels
Compressed of love and
Care and sweet desire,
All emotion set afire.
So the fuse is lit
That will the past explode,
Flying fragments, hot and cold.
Splintered slivers, new and old,
Bonds unbroken though the
Years do try and in the trying
Fail to rend the welded
Hearts of blended friends.
